Woofun AI reports that Syscoin has published a detailed analysis of a recent bridging security incident involving a UTXO-to-NEVM vulnerability. The exploit resulted in the unauthorized release of approximately 5 billion SYS on the UTXO side. To mitigate the impact, the team successfully returned the compromised assets to an official recovery address and permanently destroyed them using the standard OP_RETURN method, thereby restoring the on-chain supply to its expected level. The bridging functionality remains suspended as the development team conducts final security reviews and implements necessary fixes.
