Woofun AI reports that AWS has expanded its monetization capabilities by integrating the x402 protocol into CloudFront and Web Application Firewall (WAF) services. This update allows website publishers to accept direct payments from AI agents using plug-and-play solutions provided by x402 and Coinbase’s x402 Facilitator. Publishers can now activate revenue streams from AI-driven traffic without altering their existing AWS infrastructure configurations.

The transaction mechanism operates through a streamlined single-request workflow. When an AI agent requests protected content, the system returns an HTTP 402 response specifying the required payment amount and method. Upon completion of the payment, Coinbase’s x402 Facilitator verifies the transaction details before delivering the requested content, ensuring seamless interoperability between traditional web services and decentralized payment protocols.
