Woofun AI reports that Base will deploy the Beryl hard fork on its mainnet on June 26, introducing the B20 native token standard. This upgrade shortens the final confirmation period for single-proof withdrawals from seven days to five days while upgrading Reth V2 to reduce disk usage by 50% and increase throughput by 33%. The B20 standard is an ERC-20 compatible token implemented via Rust precompile, designed specifically for stablecoins, real-world assets, and long-tail token issuers. It includes a built-in compliance toolkit featuring transfer strategies, freezing and seizing capabilities, role-based access control, memos, and supply caps. The Beryl upgrade will first be activated on the Sepolia testnet at 2:00 AM UTC+8 on June 19.
