Woofun AI reports that the U.S. government has temporarily postponed placing DeepSeek, Changxin Storage, and more than 100 other Chinese entities on the Department of Commerce's trade blacklist. These firms were previously identified as 'national security risks' and had received interagency approval for inclusion last year. The decision by the Trump administration aims to prevent further escalation of tensions with Beijing.
Meanwhile, the Department of Commerce has not publicly announced any new additions to the entity list since October of last year, marking the longest period of update stagnation in over a decade. Other Chinese companies flagged for allegedly supplying Russian drone equipment, selling restricted Nvidia chips to universities, or manufacturing unmanned devices for the military have also not been formally added.
