LayerZero Facilitates $260B Asset Flow Across 170 Chains via Omnichain Fungible Tokens
2026-06-18 02:20

Data compiled by Woofun AI shows LayerZero has facilitated over $260 billion in asset transfers across more than 170 blockchains, utilizing over 830 Omnichain Fungible Tokens (OFTs). The infrastructure supports a diverse range of assets, from memecoins to state-issued stable tokens, enabling developers to customize security, verification, and compliance parameters for cross-chain interactions.

Crypto-native projects primarily leverage LayerZero to expand into new markets, with over $40 billion in assets including L1 tokens, wrapped BTC, and memecoins like WIF operating as OFTs. For instance, PENGU expanded from Solana to Abstract and later to Hyperliquid for spot and leveraged trading.

Meanwhile, tokenized asset issuers distribute stablecoins and yield products across networks; Tether’s USDT0 and XAUT0 now span over 24 chains, while Ethena launched five assets across 30+ chains, including a tokenized fund created with BlackRock. Ondo connected its $500 million tokenized T-bill product across six chains.

Financial institutions increasingly adopt the protocol to enforce compliance rules across blockchain networks. PayPal adopted the OFT Standard in November 2024, with Paxos, Google Cloud, and LayerZero Labs serving as required signers. Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology launched a Decentralized Verifier Network (DVN) in February 2026 for Ondo’s USDY product, while Worldpay and Global Payments deployed a Payments DVN in March 2026. Deutsche Telekom operates an on-prem DVN focused on GDPR compliance, and Fireblocks integrated LayerZero into its Tokenization Engine to support regulated asset issuance.
