US Export Controls Overlook Mythos Beta, Allowing Cisco and Dragos Continued Access to Anthropic Model

Per Woofun AI, U.S. export control directives targeting Anthropic failed to comprehensively restrict access to its most advanced secure models. Cybersecurity entities Dragos and Cisco Systems have confirmed they maintain active access to the Mythos beta version, which possesses robust vulnerability detection capabilities capable of identifying thousands of security flaws in mainstream operating systems and browsers.

While Anthropic previously restricted Mythos beta access to the Project Glasswing alliance and released the permission-limited Fable 5 to the public, subsequent government orders mandated blocking Fable 5 and pausing Mythos 5 distribution.

However, the directive omitted specific mention of the Mythos beta version. Anthropic’s official statement indicated that 'remaining models' were unaffected by the restrictions, implicitly allowing continued access for existing partners despite the broader regulatory crackdown.
