Woofun AI reports that Binance founder CZ discussed Bitcoin's quantum resilience in an interview with Galaxy Research head Alex Thorn. CZ emphasized that post-quantum cryptographic algorithms exist, making the challenge solvable through coordinated community upgrades rather than being an insurmountable threat to the network.
Regarding the approximately 1 million BTC linked to Satoshi Nakamoto, CZ argued that inaction is detrimental, as it would effectively cede control of these coins to the first entity capable of exploiting quantum computing vulnerabilities. He proposed a mechanism where, following a fork to a new cryptographic scheme, a six to twelve-month window would be provided. If the addresses remain untouched during this period, the funds should be frozen in the new protocol. CZ stressed that the final determination must rest with community voting, potentially utilizing a Bitcoin-specific signaling mechanism.
