Per Woofun AI, Andre Cronje issued a statement on June 21st to address his resignation from the Sonic Labs board and clarify his historical engagement within the Fantom and Sonic ecosystems. Cronje acknowledged the departure but disputed external narratives that conflated his technical advisory capacity with broader project governance, specifically regarding tokenomics and business operations.
He emphasized that he was never the founder of the entity or the original token project, having served solely as a technical advisor. Cronje explicitly denied any role in designing, leading, or executing the migration from FTM to the S token, as well as the management of the Sonic airdrop or the S token economic model.
Furthermore, he voiced opposition to shutting down the Ethereum ERC-20 version of FTM or halting the Opera network. Looking ahead, Cronje stated he will cease participation in Sonic Labs' business decisions and redirect his primary efforts toward developing the Flying Tulip project.
