South Korea Storage Semiconductor Exports Expected to Hit Record High of 38 to 42 Billion USD in June

Data compiled by Woofun AI shows that South Korea’s storage semiconductor exports are on track to set a new all-time high in June, with total value projected between $38 billion and $42 billion. As of June 20, 2026, exports already exceeded $23 billion, surpassing 60% of May’s total of $37.16 billion. This surge is primarily fueled by robust demand for High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and NAND flash, alongside persistent supply shortages centered around SK Hynix.

The export value of MCP (HBM) rose 51% month-over-month, while NAND and SSD exports grew by 25% to 28% as AI inference server construction accelerates.

Concurrently, the reallocation of wafer capacity toward HBM production has constrained general DRAM supply, driving unit prices to two to three times their year-ago levels. Storage products now account for 90% of total semiconductor exports, up from 70% previously. Park Junyoung of Hanwha Investment & Securities notes that long-term supply agreements and HBM dominance are mitigating historical volatility risks for the sector.
