Per Woofun AI, Hemati, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, disclosed on June 22 that 'significant progress' has been achieved in the unfreezing of previously held Iranian assets, with relevant documents formally signed during the latest round of negotiations. He characterized the resolution of frozen assets as one of the most complex elements of the current diplomatic discussions.
Under the established arrangement, related funds are scheduled to be gradually released for utilization in the coming days, adhering to specific conditions and procedures mandated by the Central Bank of Iran.
Concurrently, regarding oil and petrochemical exports, Hemati affirmed that the sanctions waiver mechanism for Iran's energy sector should be activated pursuant to the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. It has been agreed that the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control will oversee the implementation of these related arrangements.
