Bastian Aue, interim co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation, disclosed the organization's strategic mandate to ensure ETH remains a censorship-resistant and autonomous infrastructure. Addressing recent personnel controversies, Aue clarified that staff departures stem from strategic differences or personal choices, emphasizing that the foundation will not publicize individual matters unless public statements significantly mislead regarding EF direction.
The article identifies MEV governance as a core operational priority, warning against malicious practices that could undermine network integrity. Aue stressed that unconditional privacy must supersede optional compliance, noting that public ledgers lacking default privacy function as monitoring systems.
Furthermore, the foundation aims to prevent the concentration of stakeholding rights and liquidity. Future initiatives include developing quantum-resistant infrastructure, an end-to-end censorship-resistant technology stack, and personal AI wallet agents, with funding allocated based on mission alignment rather than prior association.
