Woofun AI reports that SpaceX has executed a $6 billion data center cabinet lease agreement with Reflection AI, an open-source AI model network startup valued at $25 billion. The contract, effective from July 1 through the end of 2029, is projected to generate $150 million in monthly revenue for the aerospace giant. This arrangement follows similar infrastructure deals secured with Anthropic and Google, reinforcing SpaceX's pivot toward AI compute services. Both entities retain the right to terminate the agreement with 90 days' notice after an initial three-month period.
Reflection AI, which benefits from Nvidia backing, indicated that the expanded computing capacity will underpin the development of large-scale open-source models.
Concurrently, SpaceX has moved to acquire AI coding platform Cursor in a $60 billion all-stock transaction, signaling a strategic consolidation of AI infrastructure and software capabilities.
