Woofun AI reports that Cardano wallet service provider SecondFi has identified the root cause of a recent security incident and deployed patches for unaffected wallets. The firm disclosed four instances of unauthorized fund transfers, with three executed by external attackers, resulting in the removal of approximately 16 million ADA from 374 addresses. To mitigate further losses, SecondFi initiated an emergency transfer of approximately 129 million ADA to an independent third-party custodian and engaged an external accounting firm for a special audit to facilitate asset verification and return. Affected users are advised to submit compensation claims via the official support page and are warned against importing mnemonic phrases into other Cardano wallets due to risks at the address and signature level.
