Woofun AI reports that five Democratic senators have requested a Republican committee chairman to convene hearings investigating a reported $500 million investment by the United Arab Emirates in the Trump family's crypto project, World Liberty Financial. An aide to the Abu Dhabi royal family executed an agreement to acquire a 49% stake in the venture four days prior to Trump's inauguration last year.

The senators identified the investor as UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Data indicates an advance payment of $218 million has been transferred to entities associated with Trump, his Middle East diplomat Steve Witkoff, and their families. Since assuming office in January 2025, the administration has approved multiple transactions benefiting the UAE, including a $1.4 billion weapons sale in May 2025 and authorization in November for the sale of 35,000 advanced AI chips valued at over $1 billion to UAE-based G42.
