Woofun AI reports that the South Korean Personal Information Protection Commission has imposed a fine of 210 million Korean won on cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb. The penalty addresses the unauthorized transmission of user personal information to overseas platforms between September and November 2025. During this period, Bithumb shared USDT market order book data and facilitated asset transfers to 13 foreign exchanges without obtaining sufficient consent for details including names, wallet addresses, and dates of birth. The regulator has mandated that Bithumb rectify its management systems for cross-border data transfers.
