H100 Spot Rental Drops 40% While Long-Term Contract Prices Rise to $2.65

Woofun AI reports that H100 cloud instance spot rental prices have declined to $2.42 per hour, representing a roughly 40% drop from the peak recorded in May. This reduction in spot rates does not indicate a cooling of AI demand, as spot markets primarily reflect short-term supply fluctuations and serve concept verification or temporary workload needs.

Conversely, the price for one-year H100 long-term leasing contracts has risen continuously from approximately $1.70 per hour at the end of last year to the current level of about $2.65. Analysts note that long-term contracts support continuous inference and model training in production environments, indicating that market demand is shifting from short-term experimental usage to scaled, stable deployment for AI commercialization.
