Woofun AI reports that OpenAI’s internal usage has fundamentally shifted toward agentic AI, with the traditional ChatGPT interface nearing obsolescence. As of June 2026, Codex accounts for 99.8% of weekly tokens generated by employees, with engineers at 99% adoption and non-technical staff exceeding 85%. Nearly 28.6% of staff manage five or more agents simultaneously, with top users logging over 71 hours of daily runtime.

External adoption mirrors this trend, with complex tasks estimated to take over eight hours rising from 2.1% to 25.6% in six months. Since August 2025, non-developer weekly active users surged 137 times for individuals and 189 times for organizations. Usage of the workflow-centric Skills feature among active Codex users jumped from 5.4% to 26.6% within three months.
