On Friday, the U.S. Commerce Department permitted Anthropic to restore limited access to its Mythos 5 model for trusted users. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stated in a letter that Anthropic has collaborated with the U.S. government to address risks associated with both Mythos 5 and Fable 5, noting that these efforts have made significant progress. Anthropic has also committed to cooperating with the government on agreements, standards, and releases.
