Samsung Accelerates Chip Expansion, Gwangju to Become Memory Hub

Woofun AI reports that Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong confirmed an accelerated timeline for constructing chip manufacturing facilities within the Seoul metropolitan area. Under the revised strategy, Gwangju is designated as a new memory chip manufacturing hub, while Cheonan and Onyang will serve as high-bandwidth memory (HBM) packaging centers.

Additionally, Samsung Electronics plans to deploy humanoid robots at its Gumi plant in North Gyeongsang Province and increase related investments.
