Woofun AI data shows that 244 companies in the European Union obtained MiCA crypto licenses as of June 29. Germany leads with 57 licenses, representing approximately 23% of the total, followed by France with 26 licenses, or about 11%. Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, and Romania have not issued any MiCA licenses. Poland has yet to establish a licensing system for crypto exchanges, with related legislation vetoed by the president three times. Germany, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Ireland account for roughly 72% of the EU's financial assets, explaining the high concentration of licenses in these jurisdictions. France accelerated its approval process, issuing five licenses between June 18 and 22, nearly half of the 11 licenses issued across the EU during that week. MiCA mandates that crypto companies obtain a license in at least one EU country by July 1 to legally serve the 27 member states; unlicensed entities must cease EU operations.
