Woofun AI reports that the Massachusetts Attorney General secured court approval to file an amended complaint against prediction market platform Kalshi. The updated filing alleges that Kalshi markets to individuals under 21 via social media and campus campaigns while failing to implement effective prevention measures. The complaint notes that Kalshi permits account creation and sports betting for users aged 18 and older. This legal action stems from a September 2025 case where state authorities accused Kalshi of violating state law by offering sports betting. Previously, the CFTC filed a brief asserting exclusive jurisdiction over prediction markets, with Chairman Michael Selig stating that Congress granted the agency sole authority to regulate commodity derivatives. Kalshi has not responded to requests for comment.
