Woofun AI reports that Samsung Electronics is advancing a quantum computing initiative to simulate core photolithography processes within semiconductor manufacturing. The project, executed by system integration unit Samsung SDS, aims to leverage next-generation technology to enhance integration levels and production yields.

Samsung SDS is currently engineering a quantum-based algorithm capable of virtually modeling specific lithography stages, a critical step for defining circuit patterns on wafers. Technology proof of concept (PoC) operations are scheduled to commence in the second half of this year.
