Woofun AI reports that the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau has seized an additional 500 BTC, valued at nearly $31 million, from the assets of convicted drug trafficker Clifton Collins. This recovery brings the total amount retrieved in the case to 1,500 BTC, exceeding $92 million at current market prices.
Europol's European Cybercrime Centre facilitated the operation by organizing meetings in The Hague and providing technical decryption support to access the wallets. The case concerns 12 Bitcoin wallets containing proceeds from cannabis activities, which originally held 6,000 BTC. Previous recoveries of 500 BTC occurred in March and May. Arkham data indicates that approximately 4,500 BTC remain in dormant wallets, valued at over $275 million.
