Spotify Purges 500,000 Fake Streams Linked to Kalshi Prediction Market Manipulation

Woofun AI reports that Spotify has eliminated over 500,000 artificial streams associated with Malcolm Todd's song "Earrings", which had artificially reached the top of the charts. An internal investigation revealed that the stream inflation was coordinated with wagering activities on the Kalshi prediction market, where participants bet on the most-streamed US track for June in a market with $3 million in volume. Kalshi had declared Todd the winner and settled the market prior to Spotify’s findings. Consequently, Spotify has instructed Kalshi and Polymarket to cease using its branding and clarify the absence of any partnership. Kalshi confirmed cooperation with the inquiry, whereas Polymarket has remained silent.
