Meta AI Progress Lags Expectations Amid Ongoing Restructuring Pain

Woofun AI reports that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged during an internal meeting that the company's AI agent development has not accelerated as expected over the past four months. The recent restructuring, which included laying off approximately 10% of staff in May and transferring around 7,000 employees to AI teams, was miscalculated in timing, resulting in inefficient adjustments without tangible results so far. Zuckerberg anticipates seeing benefits from these AI investments within the next three to six months.

Regarding the previously halted employee monitoring project, CTO Andrew Bosworth stated that investigations found no data leakage for AI training. If reinstated, participation will be voluntary rather than mandatory, contrasting with its initial launch in April.
