Alibaba Bans Anthropic Products, Mandating Uninstall of Claude Code by July 10

Woofun AI reports that Alibaba has issued an internal directive to completely cease the use of Anthropic-related products, requiring employees to uninstall Claude Sonnet, Claude Opus, Claude Code, and Agent tools by July 10. This policy reverses earlier initiatives that provided free internal quotas and reimbursed external model expenses for tools including Claude and GPT.

The restriction stems from deteriorating relations after Anthropic submitted materials to the U.S. Senate in June, alleging that Alibaba conducted high-frequency interactions via numerous accounts. Anthropic characterized these actions as an "industrial-grade model distillation attack," leading to tightened risk controls and a wave of account bans for Chinese users.
