SK Hynix ETF AUM Surges 326% Over Daily Volume, Samsung 177%

Woofun AI data shows that South Korean semiconductor leaders exhibit a distinct "Leveraged ETF Dominance" structure, contrasting sharply with US tech peers. As of June 29, 2026, SK Hynix single-stock ETFs and related products held $19.04 billion in assets against a daily trading volume of $4.47 billion. Samsung Electronics followed with $12.43 billion in ETF assets versus $4.49 billion in daily volume. In contrast, US counterparts like Micron, Tesla, and Nvidia maintain ETF sizes significantly below their daily trading volumes.

The absence of single-stock options in the Korean market, combined with high retail investor participation, concentrates leverage within ETF products. This structure makes stock prices highly susceptible to passive rebalancing. During market declines, forced ETF selling encounters insufficient liquidity, thereby amplifying price fluctuations through this unique mechanism.
