Starknet v0.14.3 Mainnet Upgrade Cuts Block Time by 25% to 1.5 Seconds
2026-07-08 10:41

Woofun AI reports that Starknet has deployed the v0.14.3 upgrade on mainnet, reducing block time from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds to decrease network latency. The update replaces Pedersen with BLAKE for core contract hashing, introduces dynamic L2 gas base fees per SNIP-35, and adds Keccak support for client proofs.

StarkWare mandates that developers and infrastructure operators upgrade full nodes to Juno 0.16.4 or Pathfinder 0.22.7. Validation nodes running SNIP-36 proof generation must complete upgrades during the scheduled downtime. Applications are advised to switch to RPC 0.9 or 0.10.1 versions and finalize node updates prior to deployment to prevent gas estimation errors caused by changes in StorageRead and StorageWrite costs.
