Category Labs Launches Cadence Protocol to Solve MEV at Protocol Level
2026-07-08 13:07

Woofun AI reports that Category Labs, formerly known as Monad Labs, has unveiled a new consensus protocol named Cadence. The system employs a Multi-Concurrent Proposer (MCP) mechanism, permitting simultaneous participation of multiple block proposers to maintain ultra-short block intervals without increasing latency.

Performance metrics from a global 200-node simulated network indicate an average final confirmation time of 219 milliseconds and an average probabilistic confirmation time of 167 milliseconds. The development team asserts that integrating Cadence with the encrypted mempool architecture of BTX constitutes a significant advancement in resolving MEV challenges directly at the protocol layer.
