Woofun AI reports that Samsung Electronics is developing 'GAIA,' a 4nm generative AI acceleration chip designed specifically for AI PCs. The device utilizes a memory-centric architecture to minimize latency and power consumption by integrating computing units closely with next-generation Processing-In-Memory technology.
Prototype samples have been delivered to Lenovo and HP for performance validation, with mass production anticipated as early as next year. This strategy positions GAIA as a dedicated AI computing module rather than a main processor, leveraging Samsung's memory manufacturing capabilities to complement existing PC platforms.
