Woofun AI reports that the US Department of Justice intends to dismiss charges against Matthew Goettsche, founder of BitClub Network. Goettsche was accused of orchestrating a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme involving $722 million, with a trial originally set for October. His legal team informed the judge on July 8 that an "agreement in principle" had been reached to resolve the pending allegations. The case, initiated in 2019, has spanned seven years, during which three co-defendants pleaded guilty. Goettsche’s defense included attorneys with ties to the Trump administration, such as Bradford Cohen and Brett Tolman.
