Woofun AI reports that the Ethereum Foundation’s security team used AI agents to identify a remotely triggerable vulnerability in Ethereum validator node software. The flaw, registered as CVE-2026-34219, existed within the gossipsub message propagation protocol and allowed attackers to force nodes into an abnormal computational state, resulting in crashes and offline status until manually restarted. Nikos Baxevanis of the protocol security team noted that the primary challenge was distinguishing genuine vulnerabilities from credible false positives generated by the AI, rather than the discovery process itself.
