Woofun AI reports that TSMC intends to raise wafer foundry prices for mature processes starting in January next year, following previous increases in advanced nodes. Despite this anticipated cost rise, IC design companies plan to negotiate for greater capacity support than the current year to maintain their operational scale.

Industry participants noted that earlier price hikes from non-TSMC foundries and packaging plants already increased production costs, prompting client price adjustments. If TSMC's mature process hike is confirmed, further negotiations with clients will be necessary, potentially triggering a downstream cost pass-through chain reaction.
