Woofun AI reports that Sablier Labs has announced the cessation of active product development and commercial operations, entering a maintenance phase until June 2028. The protocol cites sluggish market conditions and reduced technical barriers from AI-assisted programming as reasons for abandoning its venture capital-scale business model.

Sablier confirmed that existing user assets and streaming payments remain unaffected as smart contracts operate permissionlessly.

However, the official interface will no longer accept new plans ending after June 2028 or indefinite streams. The project advanced the open-source release of its main EVM contracts to today, changing the license from BUSL to GPL to enable community forking.
