Woofun AI reports that xAI has initiated the complete erasure of all previously uploaded user data from Grok Build as a precautionary measure. This action follows controversy regarding the tool's default behavior of uploading entire Git repositories. Andrew Milich, head of Grok Build, confirmed that the system will retrospectively delete any previously synced data once privacy settings are modified. The team, which has enabled Zero Data Retention (ZDR), states that code and execution records will not be retained. Users accessing Grok Build via API keys are also subject to this configuration. Users who have not enabled ZDR can input /privacy in the CLI to disable data retention. Despite these measures, xAI has not clarified why the tool defaults to uploading the entire codebase.
