Nvidia Cuts Asian AI Chip Buyer List by Over 50% via New Whitelist
2026-07-14 15:42

Woofun AI reports that Nvidia has instituted a new customer whitelist for the Asian market, reducing the number of approved purchasers in Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan by more than 50% following a review cycle. The company will execute on-site data center inspections, contract verifications, and end-user interviews to block third-country resale to China. Affected entities are primarily new cloud service providers offering AI computing power; those failing initial reviews may reapply after improvements. Nvidia emphasized compliance as its top priority, while the U.S. Department of Commerce declined to comment.
