Anthropic Commits $10M CAD to Advance Canadian AI Research and Startup Ecosystem

Woofun AI reports that Anthropic has committed $10 million to support artificial intelligence research and innovation across Canada. The investment targets next-generation AI development, security technologies, and responsible AI applications at leading institutions including the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, Mila, and the Vector Institute.

The funding will also extend to healthcare-focused organizations like CHEO and CAMH, as well as universities such as Toronto, Montreal, and Alberta.

Additionally, Anthropic will integrate Amii, Mila, and Vector into its entrepreneurship support program, granting hundreds of Canadian AI startups access to the Claude API with minimum support of $5,000 each.
