Woofun AI reports that the Linux Foundation has established the x402 Foundation to develop open payment standards specifically for AI agents, APIs, and applications. The initiative currently counts 40 founding members, including major technology and financial entities such as AWS, Google, Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Coinbase, Ripple, and Circle.
