Woofun AI reports that Hanmi Semiconductor is considering constructing its eighth production plant in Incheon, South Korea, to mitigate expected supply shortages in AI semiconductor equipment starting next year. Chairman Kwak Dong-shin stated that demand for the company's thermal compression and hybrid bonders is growing rapidly as global chip makers expand investments. The new facility, located adjacent to the seventh plant under construction, will be the company's largest.
Additionally, Hanmi plans to establish a subsidiary in San Jose, California, by the end of 2026 to enhance technical support services.
