MiniMax Code 2.0 Redesigns Architecture to Eliminate UI Freezes in Long Tasks
2026-07-16 10:05

Woofun AI reports that MiniMax has released an updated desktop version of MiniMax Code 2.0, restructuring session execution, state management, and tool invocation based on the open-source Pi Agent framework. This architectural shift targets issues such as waiting, freezing, and context interruption during long-running tasks, resulting in faster startup times and improved stability when reading data, invoking tools, or modifying files.

The update includes optimized chart and file preview capabilities, allowing full-screen viewing, zooming, downloading, and direct editing within the preview interface. The financial module now integrates the Everbright Financial Database and Qichacha MCP, currently available on the web version. While remote control, browser control, target mode, and schedule mode are planned for later this month, the Computer Use feature remains temporarily disabled due to compatibility and user experience concerns.
