TSMC Q2 Net Profit Surges 77.4%, 2nm Process Generates Revenue

Woofun AI reports that TSMC posted a second-quarter net profit of NT$706.6 billion (approximately US$22 billion), representing a 77.4% year-on-year increase and surpassing market estimates of NT$623.7 billion. Revenue reached NT$1.27 trillion (approximately US$40.2 billion), a 36% rise, with gross and operating margins settling at 67.7% and 60.3%, respectively.

Advanced nodes (7nm and below) accounted for 77% of wafer revenue, with 5nm and 3nm processes contributing 33% and 30%. The newly shipped 2nm process generated revenue for the first time, comprising 3% of the total. TSMC confirmed 2026 capital expenditures will approach US$56 billion, including US$26.5 billion for its Arizona facility, while CEO C.C. Wei noted that capacity expansion continues to lag behind demand.
