BitPay Secures Dutch MiCA License, Plans Stablecoin Expansion

Woofun AI reports that BitPay has secured a license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets, permitting operations across European Union member states under the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework. The approval as a crypto-asset service provider enables the firm to expand crypto and stablecoin payment services in the region. Jonathan Arler, BitPay’s European head, stated, "Europe is one of the most important regions for the future of payments." While many firms sought approval before the July 1 regulation deadline, major exchanges like Binance abandoned initial EU regulatory efforts. Ripple recently announced securing a CASP license with Luxembourg’s financial regulator.
