Woofun AI reports that 29 countries have signed an agreement to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Organization, an intergovernmental body headquartered in Shanghai. Founding members include China, Russia, Brazil, Cuba, and Serbia, alongside 10 African and 12 Asian nations. The organization aims to advance international AI cooperation, capacity building, and global governance, fulfilling a proposal initiated by China last year. Beijing intends to assist Global South nations in lowering AI adoption barriers through open-source models and technical training, marking an expansion of Sino-US AI competition into the realm of international rule-making.
