Woofun AI reports that U.S. federal prosecutors have charged 21-year-old Zyaire Wilkins from Florida with implanting cryptocurrency-stealing malware in at least eight games between May 2024 and February 2026. The malicious software, distributed through gaming platforms, infected approximately 8,000 devices and compromised about 80 cryptocurrency wallets, resulting in losses exceeding $220,000.
The implicated titles include BlockBlasters, Chemia, Dashverse, DashFPS, Lampy, Lunara, PirateFi, and Tokenova, some of which were previously removed from Steam due to security concerns. Wilkins promoted these games on Discord, Telegram, X, and LinkedIn to entice downloads. Investigators traced the suspect via on-chain analysis and digital payment records, noting that his wallet purchased over 150 gift cards on Bitrefill, including Uber Eats cards, which helped confirm his identity and location. The case is now before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
