Woofun AI reports that Bank of America Global Research forecasts a 21% quarter-over-quarter increase in global DRAM average selling prices for the third quarter, exceeding TrendForce's projection of 13% to 18% for traditional DRAM and 8% to 13% including HBM. Channel surveys indicate server DRAM contract prices rose 20% to 30%, primarily driven by high-speed LPDDR5, while spot demand for commodity DDR5 and traditional DDR4 remained strong in July.
The research notes that recent orders for high-priced HBM4 are increasing, whereas orders for lower-priced HBM3E are decreasing. With less than 50% of DRAM sales covered by long-term supply agreements, some OEM manufacturers are accelerating orders, suggesting potential price increases of more than 20% for both DRAM and NAND compared to the previous quarter.
