Woofun AI reports that Base will implement Native Account Abstraction (EIP-8130) during the September Cobalt upgrade. Collaborating with Optimism, Coinbase, and WalletConnect, the initiative aims to standardize adoption across EVM chains, with OP Stack chains following later this year.

The upgrade reduces USDC transfer gas fees by 63.2%, dropping from 125,000 to 46,000 units, while shrinking transaction size by 83.4%. Key features include transaction fee sponsorship, batch calls, and session keys for limited signing approval. Base has launched the Vibenet devnet for testing. EIP-8130 also supports cross-chain account portability, post-quantum secure key rotation, parallel nonces, and sub-accounts.
