Woofun AI reports that TSMC intends to increase foundry prices for advanced and mature process chips by up to 10% starting in early 2027. This adjustment addresses rising expenses for materials, manufacturing equipment, and overseas plant construction. Negotiations with customers commenced in June and concluded in July. The price hike primarily affects 7-nanometer and more advanced processes, which generated approximately 77% of revenue in the second quarter. For high-performance computing (HPC) chip orders exceeding original forecasts, an additional premium of 10% to 15% applies, potentially pushing total increases above 10%. Mature processes, accounting for 23% of quarterly revenue, will also see increases up to 10%, though some products may rise less.
