Woofun AI data shows that Bloomberg New Energy Finance raised its 2035 forecast for U.S. data center electricity demand to 106 GW, representing a 36% increase from the April prediction of 78 GW. This consumption level is projected to account for approximately 20% of total national electricity use by 2035, up from the current 5.9%. Bitcoin mining firms are accelerating their transition to AI computing infrastructure in response to this demand. Core Scientific and Riot Platforms have established partnerships with AWS and Google to repurpose existing mining sites. These companies currently control 6 GW of power capacity, which is expected to double to 12 GW by 2027, with analysts estimating that 20% of this capacity will shift to AI workloads.
