Ostium Resumes Trading July 23 After $18M Loss Incident
2026-07-22 22:18

Woofun AI reports that Ostium, a perpetual contract decentralized exchange on Arbitrum, will resume trading at 10:00 AM EST on July 23. All existing open positions and pending orders will be maintained, re-marked to real-time market prices upon recovery, and evaluated for liquidation or take-profit/stop-loss triggers. Protocol functionality will be restored gradually; initially, only risk-reducing actions such as position closing, margin top-ups, and order modifications will be permitted. New position openings are suspended until pending orders execute.

Additionally, new OLP liquidity deposits are paused, while existing LP withdrawals will proceed in the next settlement cycle. The protocol warns users against impersonation scams, emphasizing that the official team never requests private keys. This follows a suspected attack resulting in approximately $18 million in losses.
