Woofun AI data shows that the National Cryptocurrency Association, in a report analyzed by the Pragmatic Policy Group, projects the US cryptocurrency sector will contribute over $55 billion to GDP by 2026. The industry directly employs 34,000 individuals, while supporting approximately 232,000 jobs when including supplier and household spending effects.
Direct employment is concentrated in software, blockchain, and data engineering, accounting for roughly 10,100 roles. California and New York support the highest job totals at 57,649 and 53,766 respectively, followed by Texas with 26,536. These estimates derive from the US Bureau of Economic Analysis' 2024 input-output table and $23.2 billion in industry revenue data.
